Interview with Mr. Wu Chang Shuo, Chairman of Qunli (Group)
During Brückner's "Double Eleven Event" (Spare Parts campaign 2023 in China), our loyal customer Shandong Qunli purchased a large quantity of spare parts and applied for the free mechanical line audit. During the execution of this audit, the Deputy Service Director of Brückner China, Mr. Pascal Fuchs, conducted a special interview with Mr. Wu Chang Shuo, Chairman of Shandong Qunli, discussing bilateral successful collaborations in the past and focusing on the recent upgrade project of Brückner's Clean Oven, incl. Heating Recovery System and Neutral Zone Upgrade.
Pascal: First of all, we would like to invite Mr. Wu to introduce Qunli Company to us.
Mr. Wu: Qunli Plastics Co., Ltd. was established in November 2001 and is located in Ling County Economic Development Zone, Dezhou City, Shandong Province. The company invested over 500 million RMB to introduce two BOPP film lines from Germany’s Brückner, with supporting imported equipment. The annual production capacity of BOPP film is 50,000 tons, with an annual output value of over 800 million RMB.
Since its establishment, the company has adhered to the core values of “leveraging collective strength and creating plastic excellence”, constantly pursuing innovation and excellence. With the business philosophy of “leading, efficient, and high-quality”, the company has improved production efficiency, reduced costs, and stabilized product quality, receiving praise from customers. Qunli Company insists on independent innovation and scientific development, market-oriented and quality-centered. It aims to expand and strengthen the Qunli brand, striving to become the most competitive enterprise in the domestic film manufacturing industry.
Pascal: Could you share the reasons behind your decision to carry out the Brückner Clean Oven retrofit project?
Mr. Wu: Our original intention was to optimize the oil consumption in the TDO and improve the product quality of the film through this retrofit project. At the same time, we also wanted to improve the workshop environment and create a more comfortable working environment for our employees through this transformation.
Pascal: As of now, Qunli’s Clean Oven has been operational for over a year. In your opinion, what are the main benefits that Qunli has gained from it?
Mr. Wu: Since using the Brückner Clean Oven for over a year, one significant benefit we have gained is energy savings. Compared to before the retrofit, we have observed a substantial reduction in monthly natural gas consumption. Now, everyone can clearly feel the noticeable improvement in the oil pollution content in our workshop air.
Pascal: May I ask why you chose Brückner for the retrofit of the Clean Oven System?
Mr. Wu: Our close cooperation with Brückner has spanned 23 years. Through years of contact and understanding, we chose Brückner for this retrofit project for the following three main reasons:
- Excellent product quality: Brückner has a proven track record of delivering high-quality products that meet our requirements.
- Integration with existing control system: Brückner is able to seamlessly integrate the upgraded Clean Oven System into our existing control system, making control and energy analysis more intuitive and convenient for us.
- Long-lasting and significant effects: Brückner’s Clean Oven System has demonstrated long-lasting and significant results even after extended periods of production operation, which is a further significant advantage compared to other local competitors.
Pascal: Could you share with us Qunli’s future development and planning?
Mr. Wu: In the past few years, Qunli has been continuously upgrading and retrofitting our Brückner production lines to meet the innovation and high-quality film development of our new products. Although the investment in these projects has been significant, we have continuously benefited from them, and we will continue to increase our investment in equipment and innovative technologies in the future.
2024 will be a busy year for Qunli. Firstly, we will carry out a comprehensive upgrade and retrofit of the control system, a so called IMC-Upgrading, for our first Brückner production line. Additionally, our third Brückner production line is about to arrive in China, so we will also be involved in the installation, commissioning, and production of the new line.
