Overwhelming feedback from customer
A leading international film producer teamed up with Brückner Servtec again to upgrade a BOPP line with the latest LIWIND® system (linear motor winding system). This new technology improves significantly the winding of sensitive films and at higher speeds. The customer is very happy with the new system and the customer’s managing director confirmed the success of the upgrade in a Letter of Thanks:
“Last 2-3 years we were fighting a lot with the winder settings, because of the moving wrinkles. They appeared mainly on the thicker films. The pendular system is not a solution for the thicker film winding. Especially in case of white voided film, above 40 micron thickness.
The Brückner's engineers recommendations was clear, the only way to avoid the wrinkles was to install a new LIWIND® system. The LIWIND® system is the state of the art achievement of the Brückner's lines.
After many sleepless nights and hard work we started with the upgrade of our 8.2 metres line's winder. Can we achieve a better winding quality? Now after more than 6 months in operation we can say the LIWIND® system is working amazingly!
During the installation it was demonstrated again a very successful cooperation between the Brückner's and our teams. Despite of the strict schedule the upgrade was finished 48 hours before the deadline. The line restart was unbelievable: In connection with the LIWIND®, we had no any waste or down time. We produced first choice products since the restarting!

The LIWIND® system replaces the original mechanic / pneumatic / hydraulic contact roll positioning system at the winder by a linear motor system. It is used for optimizing the winding quality by controlling:
- Contact roll position
- Contact roll damping
- Contact pressure onto the winding core/mill roll
All these functions utilize the vast advantages of the linear motor technology with following benefits:
- Backlash free system
- Adjustable contact pressure
- Adjustable damping parameter
- Information about actual position of the contact roll
