Smooth stretching line upgrades in India – despite Corona restrictions

When leading Indian film producer Cosmo Films thought of new products to add to their existing film-portfolio, they also had in mind the upgrading of existing machinery. Two elder Brückner BOPP film stretching lines should be made fit for future applications. Line 1 experienced a multi-layer upgrade for the production of new products such as ultra-high barrier films or films supporting circular economy. Line 2’s product flexibility was enhanced by a new surface treatment unit. On the part of the technology everything was set quickly: main scope contained new extruders, new 5-layer die, new corona systems, adaption of electrical part and software

BUT: The worldwide Corona pandemic made all planning extremely difficult and demanded Brückner Servtec’s full flexibility and planning competence. And it was the time to bring into play the strength of the Brückner Group. From Germany, the Brückner Servtec specialist joined the team at Cosmo’s Aurangabad site after the mandatory quarantine. From India, out of our strong and competent setup at Brückner Machinery and Service India, their specialists completed the squad. Teamplay at its best, with only one goal: to make Cosmo Films happy with a smooth upgrade.

And it succeeded! After record-breaking short interruptions to production and the upgrade-completion far ahead of schedule, both lines have been manufacturing new film types in Cosmo-typical A-grade quality ever since.
